Someone I know quite well was describing how she was watching her elderly mother dying. My friend asked if she could save a seat in heaven for her, to which her mother replied, "I'm not so sure I'm going there..." This floored my friend, who said, 'Mom, if you're not going there then the place is empty." her mother replied, "All my life I did for everyone else, all the time...." Her next words were, "I'm not so sure that was the right thing."
Wow.
I can't imagine what my friend is going through, nor do I want to pretend to. What I do know is that there is wisdom in this fine woman's parting words. If you do for everyone else all the time with no thought to yourself, you are doing a disservice to you, your loved ones, and God. God made us to make the most of ourselves so that we can better our world...not to run ourselves ragged trying to put everyone in front of us. The idea that God wants you to be poor, tired, weary and suffering is bullshit. God wants you to make the most of yourself for one reason: to help other people. You can't help others when you're broken down, worn out and tired. You render subpar service; you are not all you could be or should be.
You can only give the most of yourself by making the most of yourself, and you can only keep your family's best interests at heart by acquiring the means to protect them.
Go to www.whitecollarwarrior.com/Products.html now and acquire those means. Don't ever have regrets like that-do for yourself so that you may do for others tenfold.
That is all,
Bobby
